About Dhutanga.org
Dhutanga.org makes authentic Buddhist teachings and practices accessible across languages, helping people understand Dhutanga, explore Buddhist traditions, and connect with trustworthy learning and practice opportunities.
Our objectives
- Establish authority — become a recognised, well-sourced reference for dhutanga.
- Welcome newcomers — explain Buddhist ideas clearly, without assuming prior knowledge.
- Support responsible practice — help visitors find introductory resources and qualified guidance.
- Expand language access — make essential content available in widely spoken and underserved languages.
Our scope
We begin with dhutanga, where we can publish carefully, and will broaden into other areas of Buddhist teaching through qualified, tradition-aware contributors. We do not claim to speak for every Buddhist tradition, and we do not imply endorsement by any community unless it has been given.
Our languages
Dhutanga.org is available in English, Mandarin Chinese (simplified), Thai, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Vietnamese, French and Portuguese. English is the source edition. Other editions currently contain machine-assisted translations of our essential content, clearly marked, while we recruit qualified translators and reviewers. Your corrections help.
Support and independence
Core teachings are and will remain freely accessible. Any future donations will be handled by a reputable payment processor and kept separate from editorial decisions. Owning a .org domain does not by itself establish charitable status; we will state our legal status clearly once it is established.
